When should I give my cat flea and tick treatments?

You can start preventative flea and tick treatments when your cat is six months old. How often you should administer treatment depends on several factors, including the humidity of the environment, exposure to the outdoors, and engagement levels with other pets.

Some products should only be administered once per month, or every three months, depending on the medication. Some flea and tick treatments are combined with heartworm medication.

If your cat has a flea or tick infestation, you should seek treatment immediately. It would be best if you spoke with your veterinarian to discuss proper treatment and concerns.

Can anyone help me identify these two ticks we found on Pepa? They created red patches on her skin. Should we go to the vet?
